You know you have good friends when you see them stand shoulder to shoulder in your time of need, but when the blessing comes is when you see them shoulder to shoulder and they are on their knees! At moffitt today. Final round of tests and first round of trial meds. Radiation begins next Tues. Checking out the Hope Lodge in between appointments. This whole place is very impressive.

Begin with the end in mind. Focus. Find joy in the little things in life. Set an example for your children because they are always watching you. Never give up. Fight till the end. Let go and let God. This is what is running through my head today.

Sitting in a Moffitt waiting room gives a whole new meaning to people watching... along with a new appreciation of a healthy family.

ReplyDeleteMr. Weaver, so sorry to hear of your cancer. We will be praying for you and your family. I, Frances Parish, and my husband, Terry, spent the summer in Birmingham at the Hope Lodge while I had radiation treatment for bilateral breast cancer. It is a wonderful place to be under the circumstances and we met and made lots of lifetime friends while we were there. Our daughter, Katrina, graduated with Shannon and we use to eat at The Truck Stop a lot while living in LP and enjoyed lots of your good food.

Hi, what a wonderful way to keep in touch and share your progress. We're back from KY...good to be home, but really miss you at the "table" at lunch. Just know that your sense of humor and positive outlook will help you fight the good fight against this disease. Our prayers will join will those of all your many friends and terrific family every day. Keep eating...just need to get some of those good tomatoes!! and your knife!...Stay strong...hugs from both.
