20 down 15 to go
Tuesday was another good day. Dad has most of his strength back. He is still using the nausea medicine in the mornings because when he first gets up he starts coughing. The coughing seems to start the nausea then. Yesterday afternoons radiation treatment was at 2:20. They let me go back with him and watch them set him up. It was very interesting. I took a few pictures. He has to wear a mask that is molded to fit his face and I have to admit, the picture is a little scary looking, so I probably won't post them. After treatment, we went for a walk. (His idea!) Across the road is a pond with a bridge and fountain. Very pretty and nice. Sonya arrived about 6:15 with leftover Ribs, greens, and cornbread. All of the residents were waiting for her. They love those Ribs. She brought my kids, Randall and Meghan with her. After eating, visiting, and showing Randall around, I said my goodbyes to the residents who will be going home before I get back over. Oh and btw, corrrection on Sid, he did not have to have a feeding tube. Talk of feeding tubes will make you eat and drink like you should, I suppose. The kids are looking forward to being out of school and going over for a whole day to visit with the residents. Ami's school signs tons of Christmas cards every year and this year we are fortunate enough to be able to share them with the Hope Lodge. Thanks for the prayers, they are working!! Shannon

Praise the Lord for Sam getting some strength back and having the desire to get out and walk around...sounds like a good day.
ReplyDeleteOur computer has been having issues so I couldn't post a comment for a few days...but we are still praying hard for all of you.
God is Good and everything will be okay.

God is good all the time...all the time, God is good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you two went for a walk! How refreshing! Especially the fact that Pop feels like he has more strength. The other morning when I was there we watched the ducks from the bedroom window and watched them out in the cold, wondering what they were up to. We did see the pond across the street. I think they were waiting for a hand out.
ReplyDeleteI am glad Randall and Megan were able to go over along with Shannon's kids. Pop loves to see his grandchildren! My husband was determined to go over during my time, but it will be good for the two of them to hang out!Pop if he gives you any trouble just let me know and I will come over and trade places with him!
Love ya!
