Finally Home

Well today was a great day. No nausea, and very little meds. It almost seems that he has made up his mind that he is home now, time to get back to normal. Four hours of fluids helped I am sure. He doesn't want to do the boost anymore. So we ate breakfast in the cafeteria this morning, lunch was Chick-fil-a (Yum) and we all sat at the dinner table tonight and ate pancakes and sausage. You can see and hear the relief all over him. He made his own phone calls today to the people who we usually try to keep informed. I know they all were proud to hear his voice strong. I know this is kind of jumbled but more will come later. I just wanted to give an update, especially since it is a positive one. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year! Lots of Love, Shannon

  1. It is great that Sam is finish with his radiation treatment. Now that the medical practitioners have done their part, we must now remain firm in our faith and belief in the power of healing that only our savior can give.

I hope that our paths can cross again, but under more happy circumstances. 2009 has been a year great personal challenges, but these challenges provided me an opportunity to meet your family. Sam: you are a great inspiration for me and made my stay at the Hope Lodge pleasurable.

God's richest blessings for the new year from my wife and I and the entire family to your great family.

  2. Dear Mr. Sam...We just arrived back from spending a wonderful 10 days in Texas with our sons and other family members. As a mother my heart is full of pride, love & happiness. Like you, I too am Blessed with a wonderful loving family. What GREAT news to read that you are back in Lake Placid. I hope that each day you will continue to feel better. I look forward to seeing your smiling face, under your baseball cap, when we come into the restaurant next week!!!! I believe so strongly in the power of prayer and with your incredibly loving, caring and faith filled family, you were able to get through this "journey". Just know that lots & lots of prayers were also being said outside your family, for such a fine man and that is you Mr. Sam. With this amazing blog, written without fail each night,by your beautiful children, it has helped us along the way. I know I have said thank you, but I will say it again. Thank you Sonya, Shannon, Teri and Toni, for sharing your inner most thoughts with all of us. May God Bless each one of you and especially you, Mr. Sam. Suzie Entel
