sunday night back at the lodge

Well tomorrow we will continue on the down side of the hump. Sonya said not to look at it that way. From here on out we are going back up the hill now so when we finish we will be at the top of the hill. King of the mountain. That's us. We all want to be king of the mountain. :)
It has been an OK weekend. He was a little weak and tired on Saturday. (The Gators losing didn't help) Today hasn't been a real good day. He was nauseated this morning but managed to eat a cinnamon roll. He ended up taking his nausea meds so he could drink his 560 calorie carnation drink. David fixed a late lunch while Shelbi and I were at volleyball and he ate part of a potato. He managed to drink another carnation drink before we left to head back and then we stopped at a Sonic for a small milkshake. He drank probably half of that. When we arrived back at the lodge, I was looking for something to eat. He thought he could eat part of a chicken pot pie if I would help him, so I agreed. By the way Sonya, I finished off your fried rice also. :) He ended up eating the whole pot pie except for the crust.
We visited for a while in the dining room. Seems that everyone has had a rough weekend. Doug, ( the cancer sucks guy) has even been sick this weekend. We discussed why this is. Is it your body reacting to having a few days without treatment, or the dread having to start back again on Monday??? Anyways, Dad is feeling pretty good now. Everything stayed down. We try to keep everything down but also have to worry about keeping it flowing out too. We have a big day tomorrow. Labs at 10:15, Dr. visit at 11:30, 1:30 infusion of trial meds, 4:00 radiation. Whew! Gonna be a good day. Shannon
